6 Figures that do your Husbando / Waifu Justice
Not much luck in the 3D/リア充 (Ria-Ju)* department? Your significant other thinks it’s kinda creepy that you collect scantily clad figurines of adolescent girls or half-naked men? Find yourself feeling so overwhelmed with love for a particular character, and find yourself wanting to look at their beautiful 2D faces every day?
Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Let’s take comfort in the fact that our 2D husbandos* and waifus* are going to love us no matter what.
So let’s take a look at 6 figures that do justice to your husbando / waifu. (This is a non-exhaustive list, and clearly is extremely biased to the writer’s tastes.)
*リア充 (Ria-Ju): The word is a mixture of リアル and 充実 (じゅうじつ) and refers to a person who is has a rich and satisfying offline (real) life. This is meant in contrast to an online (virtual) life that revolves around internet use and online social networking.
*Your husbando or Waifu is the character that you’ve decided to take as your husband or wife. Not at all legally.
- Rem -Crystal Dress Version-
Shibuya Scramble Figure
Wow. Just wow. It’s been a while since a figure of this quality has been released. First revealed at Wonder Festival 2020 this year, this extremely delicate figure is of Rem in a “Crystal Dress”, decked out in a semi-translucent aqua layered dress. The whole figure is extremely luxurious, the level of detail for the face, hands, and clothing is absolutely incredible. Rem looks absolutely precious in this ensemble, her face is so sweet and adorable I don’t think even Subaru can resist her in this dress. Her face looks great, her hair is neat, her legs are endless - the picture that this figure manages to paint is enchanting, like seeing your fiance on the day of your wedding; classy, romantic and breath-taking, and simply beautiful. The proportions of the body are perfect, the pose is dynamic and the balance of the composition is well done. All in all, Shibuya Scramble Figure has done an amazing job with this series of scaled figures!
And what’s more is that it’s available for pre-order here, so you can get your hands on this amazing work of art at 500 SGD.
500?! You screech. Yes, we know. It’s pricey, but you don’t have to bust your wallet and fork out the full amount of 500 smackers at one shot; just pay the deposit first and the rest of it when the product actually arrives.
It’s not every day that there’s such an amazing figurine that’s so readily available to be put on display in your home!!
- Archer / Gilgamesh
Myethos
The King of Heroes KING OF MY HEART. Myethos did a wonderful job with this figure, there’s a good sense of weight; the body proportions are accurate, and the facial details are quite well done. The cloth isn’t exactly the greatest render available, but it looks really good in certain angles. Cloth aside, it’s this figure’s lack of clothing that’s a real highlight. To be very honest, the pose isn’t much to write home about; after all, there are only so many poses that Gilgamesh is willing to be caught in, but the rendition of his facial features gives this sharp, sleek and super ikemen stylistic to the normally angular faces that that FGO’s art style sports. This figure is probably the first scaled figure of Gilgamesh in this outfit; most of the figures of the King of Heroes were prize figures or figma, which make this scale figure a refreshing and very desirable take on the Archer Gilgamesh.
His abs look good enough to wash clothes and preferably my face on, and his stance reflects an air of Kingliness that really does give this shiny Golden King a feeling of authority. Despite his lack of nips.
Unfortunately, this figure is no longer available for sale in most places or websites, unless you’re willing to fork out a higher price of about 350 SGD at least.
- Macross Frontier Sheryl Nome GORGEOUS Ver.
MegaHouse
Aptly named, this scale figure is just G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S. Sheryl looks absolutely captivating. I would build a shrine for this figurine and offer her fresh flowers every day. I have no words to how perfect this figure is; it’s the perfect mix of beauty and sexiness, every part of it is just expertly executed - the clothing folds, the smooth skin, the sculpt - heck, it looks even better than the illustration, and that’s ridiculously hard to do. I have nothing but praises for this goddess, so if you’d like to enshrine her in your own home, you can pay your $380 pittance here.
- G.E.M. Series Kimetsu no Yaiba Giyu Tomioka
MegaHouse
Tomioka Giyu.
More like Tomioka GIVE-ME.
This scaled figure is so simple, but so graceful. It’s so Japanesque. It’s like a bamboo fountain in a zen garden in the middle of fall; crisp, concise, and calm. His face is rendered with enough detail to reflect his normally stoic character and exudes a sense of serenity, but also hints at Giyu’s strict and no-nonsense nature with the lack of superfluous accessories or details. Overall it’s a quiet yet dynamic piece, quite like Giyu himself, and its execution is also exemplary. I can’t help but compare this figure to ikebana, or flower arrangement due its quiet strength and simple beauty.
So instead of spending money on Ikebana, pre-order your Giyu here.

- Kato Megumi Meeting Clothes Version
Good Smile Company
She’s literally jumping out of a canvas. Into my arms.
If that doesn’t excite you as an anime fan, I’m not sure what will.
Megumi looks adorable in spring clothing - the colors fully complementing her skin, and everything about this scale figure looks fresh, dewy and screaming 青春 Seishun (Youth).
The airiness of the clothing gives the figure a good sense of movement; the sakura branches frame her body very well, even from three-quarter angles. Her face is well detailed, her body proportions also look very good despite the dynamic position.
The colours are so sweet, and it’s the perfect figure for spring.
Well, let her spring into your collection! She’s up for pre-order here.
- Kishibe Rohan
Banpresto
After listing figurines that are well over 100 dollars, here’s one that’s extremely affordable.
For a prize figure, the quality of this figure is impressive.
I’m a stickler for detail, so when I saw this prize figure, I was honestly surprised at the level of detail they put into the sculpt. It may well be because of the art style of the original work, but Rohan is looking extremely good.
Makes me want to start running too.
Rohan might be out of his element, but he’s welcome to run into my display shelf because that shirt is doing his figure all the favours; YES THANK YOU.
He’s ready to run into your house at a super affordable price; find out more here.
Like I mentioned when I started the article, this is a non-exhaustive list. I have many other husbandos and waifus.
